Meet Atenas
A botanical artist with a deep passion for capturing the everlasting beauty of nature and preserving it through her art. Atenas’ work masterfully combines traditional techniques of botanical printing and natural dyeing, utilizing sustainably sourced materials. Her creations are not only visually stunning but also meaningful, as they encapsulate the natural world in artistic form, fostering a sense of respect and love for our planet.
From a young age, Atenas has been enamored with fabrics and textiles, a passion that she cultivated growing up in Mexico. She has practiced natural dyeing techniques back home, using the rich, natural resources available in her environment.
Atenas is dedicated to spreading the beauty of this art form, helping people discover new passions or add innovative techniques to their repertoire. She studied art in Mexico and completed a master’s degree in Culture & Art Management in Barcelona, but it wasn’t until she arrived in the breathtaking Pacific Northwest that she fully embraced the incredible potential of ecoprinting.
To hone her skills, she has participated in various workshops with different teachers specializing in natural dyeing and eco-printing.Â
